Two Eagles, Two Top-10 Finishes: Petrova and Foley Earn All-ASUN Honors as FGCU's Women Post a Program-Best Third
Alise Petrova ran 18:18.5 for ninth and Rhyen Foley 18:19.2 for tenth at the ASUN Championships — back-to-back top-10s that carried Florida Gulf Coast's women to the best team finish in program history.

Florida Gulf Coast's women's cross country team has never finished a conference championship like this. Alise Petrova and Rhyen Foley both earned All-ASUN second-team honors at the ASUN Championships, and their top-10 finishes led the Eagles to a program-best third place as a team, FGCU Athletics announced Sunday.
Petrova, a junior, finished ninth in the 5K in 18:18.5, continuing a breakout season; she had earned third-team All-ASUN honors as a freshman. Foley was one place and less than a second behind her — tenth in 18:19.2 — and doubled up her honors by also landing on the ASUN All-Freshman Team.
The pair's finishes at the front of the field are what lifted FGCU to third, the highest team placing in program history at the conference meet. Petrova, Foley and the rest of the Eagles are back in action on November 13 in Tallahassee, where they will run the NCAA South Region Championships against the region's best fields of the fall.
