Week 11 Roundup: North Fort Myers Routs Rival Fort Myers, Cape Coral Takes the Black and Blue Bowl 56-13
The Red Knights closed their season with the rivalry's biggest win since 2019, and the Seahawks rolled past Mariner to finish 8-2 heading into the state playoffs.

North Fort Myers ended a hard season on the highest note available to it, pounding rival Fort Myers by 42 points on Thursday night at Sam Sirianni Field — the largest margin in the rivalry since the Greenies won 48-3 in 2019, the News-Press reported. Sophomore Jadarian Brown carried 26 times for 149 yards and two touchdowns, junior quarterback Ryan Johnson ran for a score and threw a 20-yard touchdown to Jerry Kemp, and the Red Knights' defense picked off senior quarterback Anthony Mendes three times, including a 20-yard pick-six by sophomore AJ Parker.
Fort Myers struck first on a 33-yard field goal by senior Brayden Russell and added a 4-yard touchdown run by sophomore Undrially Ivy, but the night belonged to North. Both teams finish the regular season 4-6, and for Fort Myers it is the first time since the 1967-68 season that the program has finished with back-to-back losing records, according to the News-Press.
In the 40th annual Black and Blue Bowl, Cape Coral beat Mariner 56-13 to finish 8-2 — the Seahawks' third straight season of at least eight wins, something the program had not done since 1993-95. Senior quarterback Derek Hooker threw for 219 yards and three touchdowns. Cape Coral, which now leads the series 20-18, learns its opening-round Class 5A playoff opponent when the FHSAA announces the postseason brackets on November 6.
