The four Eagles seniors owned their afternoon: FGCU swept Jacksonville 25-20, 25-18, 25-17 on Sunday, out-acing the Dolphins 11-2 to finish the regular-season home schedule and complete the season sweep.

Senior Day belonged to the seniors. Florida Gulf Coast swept Jacksonville 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at Alico Arena — 25-20, 25-18, 25-17 — to close its regular-season home slate and complete a season sweep of the Dolphins, according to the FGCU Athletics recap of the match. The Eagles improved to 10-11 overall and 7-4 in the ASUN; Jacksonville fell to 10-14 and 4-6.
FGCU controlled every measurable: the Eagles out-hit Jacksonville .315 to .165, out-killed the Dolphins 41-34, out-aced them 11-2 — including seven aces in the first set — and out-blocked them 8-4, hitting .424 with 17 kills in the third set. Senior Julija Grubisic Cabo led all players with 14.5 points, hitting a career-high .500 with 10 kills on one error, three aces, nine digs and two blocks, and she put down the match-winning kill. Fellow senior Abby Toeniskoetter hit .545 with six kills and no errors, adding four aces and four blocks for 13 points, while Katie Gielas posted a match-high 12 kills, senior Anna Marzella a match-high 13 digs, and senior Eliska Vytiskova handed out 20 assists to reach 870 in her FGCU career.
"We have so many weapons," head coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen said in the recap. "When we distribute and everybody's on, it's such a hard offense to stop." The win stretched FGCU's lead in the all-time series with Jacksonville to 35-13, and the Eagles finished 6-1 at Alico Arena in ASUN play. The regular season closes with three road matches, starting Friday, Nov. 6, at West Florida at 7 p.m. ET — and then the building hosts the league again: the ASUN Volleyball Championship runs Nov. 19-22 at Alico Arena, with the top six teams playing for the conference's automatic NCAA Tournament bid.
