Early Voting Is Over in Lee County: What Fort Myers Voters Need for Election Day on Tuesday
Lee County's early voting ended Saturday, October 31. Voters who have not cast a ballot yet have one route left — their assigned polling place on Tuesday, Nov. 3 — and the county will post preliminary results shortly after 7 p.m.

Early voting in Lee County is finished. The Lee County Elections Office states plainly on its official site that the last day to vote early for the Nov. 3 general election was Saturday, October 31 — so there is no early-voting option on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. A registered Lee voter who has not yet voted must go to their assigned polling place on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The ballot waiting on Tuesday is a long one for Southwest Florida: a governor's race between Republican Byron Donalds of Naples and Democrat David Jolly, the race to succeed Donalds in U.S. House District 19, Fort Myers mayor and Ward 3 council, Cape Coral mayor and council runoffs, Lee County Commission and School Board seats, two county charter questions and three state referendum questions, according to the News-Press and Cape Coral Breeze voter guides read this run. Voters can check their record and sample ballot through the Elections Office site before they go.
Two details deserve a second look. The Elections Office notes that Fort Myers Beach Town Council candidate John McLean has withdrawn from his race; because the withdrawal came late, his name still appears on the ballot, and votes cast for a withdrawn candidate will be tallied but will not count. And when the polls close, the county says it will release and post preliminary, unofficial local results shortly after 7:00 p.m. on election night.
