Halloween Night in Fort Myers: Slow Down for Trick-or-Treaters, and Catch the Haunted Walks' Last Night
Saturday is warm and mostly dry for trick-or-treating, the Sheriff's Office is asking drivers to slow down for a night of children after dark, and two of Fort Myers's biggest Halloween attractions close after tonight.

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and Fort Myers gets a warm one: the station's live forecast puts Saturday's high at 87.6 degrees with only a 23 percent chance of precipitation, cooling after sunset at 6:45 p.m. Eastern. That means neighborhoods across Lee County will fill up at exactly the hour the light fades.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office used its October safety message to remind residents that Halloween brings increased pedestrian activity and more children out after dark, and it asked drivers to slow down. Families heading out can help the same way: stay on sidewalks and well-lit streets, cross at corners, and keep costumes visible in the dark — an extra hour of night is coming, too, since clocks fall back at 2 a.m. Sunday.
For families looking for an organized scare instead, tonight is the last night for two season-long attractions. The Calusa Haunted Walk runs from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on the trails at Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium, 3450 Ortiz Avenue, at $20 to $25. Stage Fright Nights at the Alliance for the Arts, 10091 McGregor Boulevard, also closes tonight, with its seance-themed haunted house, Summoning the Damned, at $15 to $20. Earlier in the day, Southern Fresh Farms holds its fall festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 8500 Penzance Boulevard, with hayrides, a pumpkin patch and live music and free admission.
