Miami is still the top of college football. The Hurricanes held the No. 1 spot in the Associated Press Top 25 released Sunday for a third straight week, collecting 62 of 70 first-place votes and 1,740 points after escaping North Carolina with a 38-35 win on Saturday that kept them unbeaten at 8-0.

Behind Miami, the poll reshuffled around Ohio State's fall. Georgia moved up to No. 2 with seven first-place votes, followed by Utah — which took the remaining first-place vote — Notre Dame at No. 4 and UCLA at No. 5. Ohio State, beaten 30-18 at USC, dropped to No. 11, out of the top 10 for the first time in five years; USC re-entered the poll at No. 18. Florida's other ranked program is hanging on at the edge: the Gators (5-3) fell from No. 17 to No. 25.

Sunday's poll is the last one that stands alone. The first College Football Playoff rankings of the season are released Tuesday night and continue weekly until the 12-team bracket is set on December 6 — in an AP-based bracket, Miami, Georgia, Utah and Notre Dame would hold the top four seeds and the first-round byes. Miami's own test comes first, and it is a large one: the Hurricanes visit No. 4 Notre Dame on Saturday.
