Cape Coral Road Rage Shooting Suspect Arrested on Attempted Murder Charges
A driver was shot in the chin in an October 22 road rage shooting on Santa Barbara Boulevard. Cape Coral police and U.S. Marshals arrested the suspect in Lehigh Acres, and he is booked in the Lee County Jail on three attempted murder counts.

Cape Coral — The suspect in an October 22 road rage shooting that left a driver with a gunshot wound to the chin has been arrested, the Cape Coral Police Department said. Patrol officers, Violent Crimes Unit detectives, the department's Forensics Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service worked the case together.
Officers responded at about 5:59 p.m. on October 22 to the 1000 block of Santa Barbara Boulevard South, where they found a driver with a gunshot wound to the chin and a passenger injured by broken glass, according to the department. Detectives determined the incident began as a verbal dispute on Hancock Bridge Parkway, during which a passenger in the suspect vehicle threw items at the victims' car; after an item was thrown back, the suspect driver displayed a handgun and fired multiple rounds into the victims' vehicle before fleeing, police said.
On October 23, detectives executed a residential search warrant and secured evidence that led them to identify the suspect as Dominic Octavious Cichini, according to the department's release, which published his name and date of birth. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant through the State Attorney's Office and enlisted the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force's Fort Myers Office, which includes a Cape Coral task force officer; task force members arrested Cichini during a traffic stop in Lehigh Acres without incident.
Cichini was transported to the Lee County Jail and booked on three counts of attempted second-degree murder with a firearm, a first-degree felony, and one count of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon, a second-degree felony, the department said. The charges will now be tested in court.
