Lee County RoadWatch: The Week's Nighttime Closures Run From I-75 and Daniels to Both Caloosahatchee Bridges
FDOT District 1's RoadWatch for the week of November 1–7 keeps Lee County's road work after dark: I-75 at Daniels Parkway, the Edison and Caloosahatchee bridges, Pine Island Road and the S.R. 80 and S.R. 82 corridors all carry overnight lane closures.

Lee County's road work this week is a nighttime story. The Florida Department of Transportation's District 1 RoadWatch — its weekly report covering the week of November 1–7 — lists overnight lane closures on the county's biggest corridors, and drivers who travel after dark will meet most of them.
The largest project remains the reconstruction of the I-75 interchange at Daniels Parkway, Exit 131, into a diverging diamond. FDOT says motorists should anticipate lane closures on I-75 between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. and on Daniels Parkway between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. when necessary, with a reduced speed limit in the project area, northbound I-75 traffic shifted slightly toward the median and pedestrian access shifted to the south side of Daniels Parkway. The interchange's expected completion is summer 2028. Downtown, both river crossings are in the overnight rotation through winter 2026: the Edison Bridge carries intermittent northbound and southbound lane closures from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. while crews work on bridge joints, and the Caloosahatchee Bridge carries the same hours while crews do pile-jacket work.
East and west of downtown, the pattern repeats. On S.R. 78, Pine Island Road from west of Santa Barbara Boulevard to east of Del Prado Boulevard, motorists should expect nighttime and overnight lane closures throughout the resurfacing project as paving continues. S.R. 82 at Alabama Road carries nighttime closures around the installation of a new traffic signal, S.R. 80 — Palm Beach Boulevard — from Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard to Kingston Drive carries intermittent nighttime closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., and S.R. 82 from Ford Street to Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard carries them from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. FDOT notes every schedule can shift with weather, and points drivers to FL511 for live conditions before they go.
